There is a Response for this Nonsense...

CONFLUENCE, Pa. - A well-known doctor with a permit to carry a concealed weapon has been charged with having a gun on school property when he picked up a child at a southwestern Pennsylvania high school about three hours after the school shootings last month in Newtown, Conn.
State police say they've charged 41-year-old chiropractor Charles King II because the state school code prohibits weapons on school property in most instances. Police waited nearly three weeks to file the charges because they're not sure whether the carry permit is an exception, though Somerset County District Attorney Lisa Lazzari-Strasiser doesn't believe it is.

Were this me...my response would be rather eloquent.  I would request a meeting with the principal.  At that meeting, I would call the police and report the principal for violation of the "zero tolerance policy" due to the possession of a letter opener, which could be used as a knife.  I would insist on an arrest, then a search of the entire school to identify all teachers and staff in possession of a similar "instrument of harm."

Shoe...enjoy the other foot.
